After 90 days, we have finally completed the final step in establishing our residency and domicile. We have driver's licenses - or at least the temporary paper version. 🙂 The story When we arrived in Livingston, we had no idea it would take us 90 days to do our four step process. We managed to … Continue reading Texas: Residency and domicile are established (2020)

New Mexico: Bosque del Apache in black and white (2019)
When we visited Bosque del Apache in October, 2019, it was too early for the annual crane festival. While we didn't get to see a lot of cranes, the wildlife refuge had plenty of scenic vistas to keep a photographer happy. When I went back through the photos, these two caught my eye for processing … Continue reading New Mexico: Bosque del Apache in black and white (2019)
Texas: Cadillacs and graffiti in black and white (2019)
After we attended the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, we headed to a small town near Tucumcari. The nearest place to pick up Amazon packages (through the Amazon Locker program) was in Amarillo. While we were running errands in Amarillo, we made sure to visit the Cadillac Ranch on our way in. It's much less crowded … Continue reading Texas: Cadillacs and graffiti in black and white (2019)
Texas: Lake Tawakoni State Park (2020)
About an hour and 15 minutes away from us is the nearest Texas state park: Lake Tawakoni State Park. We weren't quite sure what to expect, but it was a beautiful visit. Currently, visiting a Texas state park requires a reservation, even for state park passholders. The reservation system allows the ability to keep from … Continue reading Texas: Lake Tawakoni State Park (2020)
Oregon: A shipwreck in black and white (2019)
When we reached Oregon in May, 2019, our first stop after settling in was to visit the Oregon Coast. I have photographed the Peter Iredale shipwreck several times. Every time we see it, more of it is gone, victim to the ravages of time. The shipwreck has been a tourist attraction since it wrecked. We … Continue reading Oregon: A shipwreck in black and white (2019)
Wyoming: Looking up to the sky in black and white (2019)
I didn't take a lot of photos in Rawlins because I was sick for two days, but we did get to the Carbon County Museum, where I found this tree. We drove around for a bit, but there was plenty we need to come back to see in the area, including the Wyoming Frontier Prison. … Continue reading Wyoming: Looking up to the sky in black and white (2019)
Wyoming: Looking into the distance in black and white (2019)
After we left Colorado, our next stop was Rawlins in Wyoming. We stopped at the Wagonhound Rest Area, 50 miles west of Laramie, on the way. We walked towards the edge of the rest area, where this amazing view presented itself. Sometimes, rest areas have amazing views, so we always check them out.
Colorado: Looking into the building in black and white (2019)
When I was in Denver for the STC Summit last year, we walked by the Denver Convention Center on the way to dinner. I couldn't resist getting this angle on the infamous blue bear. From this angle, you really see the intent of the artwork, named "I See What You Mean."
Colorado: Looking at the view in black and white (2019)
When we arrived in Colorado to attend the 2019 STC Summit, we had a day or two to acclimatize. We met up with a friend to hike and photograph the Lookout Mountain area, and captured this vista on the way back to our RV. This photo has a lot of what I like to capture: … Continue reading Colorado: Looking at the view in black and white (2019)
