New Mexico: Bosque del Apache in black and white (2019)

When we visited Bosque del Apache in October, 2019, it was too early for the annual crane festival. While we didn’t get to see a lot of cranes, the wildlife refuge had plenty of scenic vistas to keep a photographer happy. When I went back through the photos, these two caught my eye for processing into black and white.

Patterns

I’ve always loved patterns and hard shadows.

Field

I love focusing on one stalk and blurring everything else in the background. While this photo breaks the rule of thirds by having the subject in the center, I didn’t care. 🙂
