Nevada: Red Rock Canyon (2016)

In August 2016, we were in Las Vegas for a competition, and we had a little extra time. So we drove over to the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, about 16 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip. We tried to get there in time for sunrise, but arrived too late. Both sunrises and sunsets tend to be “epic” at Red Rock Canyon, but it’s much cooler in August during the morning.

Red Rock offers a 13-mile scenic drive, miles of hiking trails, rock climbing, horseback riding, mountain biking, road biking, picnic areas. We only did the scenic drive, which can take a while when you’re a photographer and stop at every point.  😀

Jeep view

I can’t help myself. If I’m in an amazingly scenic place and my Jeep is positioned correctly, I try to get a decent photo.
