From 2009 through 2013, we had reserved tickets for the Oregon Jamboree. The Oregon Jamboree is a 3-day country music festival held in late July/early August. In July 2011, the Friday performers were Katie Armiger, Jason Jones, Jo Dee Messina, and Ronnie Dunn of Brooks & Dunn.
Katie Armiger
This was the first time I saw Katie in concert. Unfortunately, after the 2nd time we saw Katie, her career was derailed by allegations against her record company for sexual harassment. She released an EP in late 2018 in the pop arena under the name Katie A, but hasn’t done anything I can find on iTunes since then. It’s too bad, because she is an amazing singer. I believe she still may be a songwriter in Nashville, though.
Jason Jones
Jason Jones was a surprise for me. I had never heard of him before seeing him on stage, but by the end of his set, I had downloaded his album. He only had one song hit the charts, called “Ferris Wheel.”
Jo Dee Messina
Several of Jo Dee Messina’s hits were written by Phil Vassar, so a few of her songs were familiar to me. She is one of my sister’s favorite artists, so I paid close attention during her concert.
Ronnie Dunn
The final performer of the day was Ronnie Dunn, from Brooks and Dunn. We really enjoyed his performance.
