Texas: Amarillo Botanical Gardens (2020)

One of the things we’ve been wanting to do since we arrived in Amarillo was visit the botanical gardens. I also wanted to participate in the YouTube Life in a Day project, so we decided to combine the two. I’m including mostly photos in this post, as most of the videos were submitted to the project. Both videos and photos were done on my iPhone XS Max with my new Moment anamorphic lens.

We took all applicable precautions, including wearing masks and maintaining social distance from other attendees. Frankly, there wasn’t a crowd. We could easily avoid other attendees. I think we might have seen a total of 20 other people in the hour or so we were there.

A beautiful flower in the sun.
A statue near the entrance of the botanical garden.
A cool planter near a sidewalk path in the garden.
Ducks in the tropical zone building, under the waterfall.
The flowers laying on the bench caught my eye.
This flower was recently misted in the tropical zone.
The building in the background hosted the tropical zone, with a grassy amphitheater in front.
This large walkway area was part of the Japanese Garden area, built in 2018.
These arches are near the beginning of the botanical gardens.

This is one of the videos I didn’t submit, but I thought it showed a nice cross section of the garden area.
