New Mexico: White Sands in black and white (2019)

Over on my personal Facebook timeline, I was tagged in one of those “post 1 photo a day for 10 days” of travel photos. Since I’ve been pretty good at posting my travel photos for the last year and a half, I’m taking this opportunity to redo some of my favorites in black and white.

When we visited White Sands National Monument in September 2019, we stayed there for most of the day. That meant we were still there when these clouds rolled through in the late afternoon. No rain fell, but they added some depth and drama to the skies.

I love how landscape photos can look super dramatic when processed in black and white instead of color.
