After a good two weeks catching up on errands in the Phoenix area, we headed to Lake Havasu City on the western side of Arizona.
We are at Lake Havasu State Park until Wednesday, while we explore the local BLM areas for suitable dry camping sites. However, depending on the weather, we may try to extend our stay by a day or two if the state park has availability. The remnants of Tropical Storm Raymond may dump up to 2 inches of rain in areas. Phoenix is supposed to be the hardest hit, but there will still be rain in Lake Havasu City.
We arrived around 3:30 p.m. and quickly set up in our spot.
We not only have a picnic table with a shelter, but a fire ring and plenty of room.
Once we determined we had enough room on the site pad for the Jeep, we moved it over and got the outdoor area set up as well.
Despite our tiredness, we headed into town for groceries, and on the way back stopped to capture sunset.
Arizona provides such amazing sunsets – we are going to find a good spot to set up tomorrow night and capture sunset with the good cameras.
