I had a very early morning flight (6:40 a.m.) flight out of Albuquerque with my good friend Roger. Since I knew we’d be in Albuquerque right before LavaCon, it was easier to choose the same flights he already had booked.

Our first flight headed to Las Vegas, with an almost 2 hour layover. Once we got a little breakfast (and caffeine), it was time to head to Portland.

We finally make it to Portland, get a Lyft ride to the hotel, and check into our separate rooms for the next 5 nights.

We met up with other conference volunteers, helped pack some mysterious bag items, and I met up with the friends that were bringing the rest of my equipment to the hotel.
We ended up heading to the Portland Night Market, which was quite the traffic headache (street parking, mostly). The City Liquidators building had a Saturday Market like atmosphere. I focused mostly on the details.
After walking around the entire market, my friends drove over to the hotel and dropped me off to start my LavaCon adventure.
Hoping to have some amazing Portland details photos in the next few days.
