Arizona: Quartzsite to Parker

Ever since we arrived in Quartzsite, we’ve been dry camping (no hookups: water, sewer, or electric). Today, that changed.

We headed towards Parker for our next destination: River Island State Park.

Because we are planning on being at the Xscapers Annual Bash in a few days, which is also dry camping, we wanted a short stay somewhere with hookups. River Island State Park offers partial hookups (water, electric) with a dump station on-site. Before we head to the Bash, we’ll empty our gray and black tanks, and fill up our water tank – covered by our camping fee.

50 amp electric hookup in our pull through space. I captured this before Bob had hooked up the water, though.

The park

After dry camping for so long, and being able to choose our own (not close to anyone else) spot, it is interesting being so close to everyone else. 🙂

It is a pretty nice park with a day use area. There is absolutely no T-Mobile cel phone service here, and the wifi is spotty depending on the signal and who is using it, but it’s enough for web surfing and email.

We hope to get some more pictures of the Parker area, but we were too exhausted after our travel day today.
